En el valle de Améscoa se encuentra el Parque Natural de Urbasa y Andía que alberga en su interior, entre otros atractivos, el Nacimiento del Urederra en el municipio de Baquedano. Este lugar privilegiado es el elegido por el acuífero que forma el río para escapar del macizo kárstico de Urbasa, cuyas paredes verticales de más de 900 m encuentran el punto de partida de este río que ofrece un atractivo y colorido recorrido. El entorno que lo rodea, junto con la flora y la fauna que lo habitan, junto con las caprichosas cascadas y las aguas transparentes que se tiñen de llamativos colores, hacen de éste uno de los parajes más espectaculares y visitados de toda Navarra.

La ruta de senderismo de 7,4 km. nos lleva a la bella localidad de Baquenado, donde podemos ver su iglesia parroquial de San Juan Bautista de los siglos XVI y XVII o su ermita de la Santa Cruz del siglo XVI. Esta localidad nos sorprende con sus edificios nobles y blasonados y su cuidada fuente y lavadero antes de dar paso al singular paraje por el que transcurre esta ruta. La inconfundible silueta de la sierra de Urbasa, tallada durante años por la acción de los elementos, es el exclusivo anfiteatro elegido por los buitres, los halcones que habitan estas tierras, dándonos una pequeña muestra de la singular fauna que aquí habita. La ruta nos lleva por espectaculares rincones rodeados de un denso bosque de ribera acompañado de hayas, robles y sabinas, entre otras muchas especies que aportan su grano de arena a este bello paraje.
